How To Do Pinterest – Pinterest Demystified
With all the insanity that goes on in the Social Media world about “This Platform, That Platform is best,” blah, blah blah.
It is incredibly humbling to find a Social Media platform that actually does what it says on the tin.
There is no pretense with Pinterest.. It’s a Social World of awesome colour intertwined with Fun and loathing. You either love it or you don’t. It’s a bit like Social Media “Marmite” if you like.

Personally, I love it. Large striking images get shared, there is no doubt. The trick is, if you are using this as a business tool, you need to take note, that creating “boards” (web pages to “pin” content to) purely for business only won’t get you very far.
You need to adopt the true meaning of Social Media marketing.. market, but be social. As much as 90% of your content should really be for Pinterest’s Eye Candy following – People who love to pin (add) or repin (share) beautiful images of Cars, Travel, Crafts Beauty, Fashion, Home & Garden etc.
It is only then, when people can find the beauty in your images, will they perhaps delve further into where they came from (linked back to) and investigate the source (your website etc).
Just throwing images up of products and linking directly back to them may get you some customers, but long term you should be building brand awareness and encouraging people to visit your boards by offering visual value and quality content.
